SpaceX is reportedly sending Elon Musk`s Tesla Roadster into space on SpaceX`s rocket.

The space company owned by Musk himself has the goal to launch “the most powerful operational rocket”, as CNBC reported recently.

In case the launch is successful, Falcon Heavy will be the biggest and most powerful rocket to be launched into space since Nasa`s rocket Saturn V that was sent into space in 1973. To spice things up, Musk plans to fix his car to a part of the rocket, while playing the song “Starman” by David Bowie.

The rocket is built from three boosters of SpaceX`s smaller Falcon 9. It is 70-meter-long and could carry up to 37,000 pounds of cargo and crew to Mars, according to CNBC who quoted SpaceX`s statement on their website. The rocket is reported to be equivalent to 18 Boeing 747 aircraft at full throttle.

Previously, Musk has reportedly admitted that his team has overestimated themselves and gave an impossible time frame for completing the project. In July 2017, he reportedly said that the development had been “way harder” than he had first thought. Following this mistake, the program was delayed up to five years, as CNBC wrote.

Must tweeted that launch will meet their new target and will happen as planned at 1:30 pm ET on Tuesday.
