Ripple, one of the most prominent blockchain startups managed to land yet another deal. The San Francisco-based company secured an impressive partnership with MoneyGram earlier this year. The XRP may be struggling on the crypto market but Ripple is working tirelessly on its blockchain services.

Recently LianLian International joined to long line of Ripple partners. The Hong Kong-based will utilize the xCurrent system, which is one of Ripples enterprise blockchain products. According to Ripple, xCurrent is the fastest distributed ledger network so far and is able to instantly settle transactions.

China’s e-commerce sector is rapidly growing and in 2017 alone, it scored $1.07 trillion. The vast amount of money involved justifies the investments in fintech solutions. The xCurrent technology can make these $1.07 trillion move around faster and at cheaper prices. The director of joint ventures at Ripple, Emi Yoshikawa, believes that from now on LianLian’s merchants and customers are to enjoy the comfort that on-demand payments deliver. Yoshikawa hopes that more customers of the RippleNet will be connected to LianLian and the network will grow.

Apart from LianLian Ripple already has a couple of strong partners from Asia in the face of South Korean and Japanese banks and companies. With the addition of LianLian to the RippleNet, Ripple’s enterprise blockchain is not only proving its utility but becomes even more luring for future clients and investors because up until now the Chinese market was not on board.

However, LianLian is not going to use the XRP, Ripple’s native currency. Despite the companies notes that xRapid which involves the XRP is faster than any other platform most businesses have turned towards RippleNet instead.

Currently, the most notable company that have adopted the XRP is MoneyGram. But there is a slight detail, however. MonayGram uses the XRP only for in-house transactions and consumer operations are to take advantage of it at a later stage. Brad Garlinghouse emphasizes that more companies are going to join his company’s network in 2018.
