Jaguar is determined to become the top Tesla challenger. Since December 2016 when the automobile giant announced its plans to deliver the I-Pace prototype, auto maniacs have been waiting for this to happen. News from the Jaguar camp are now spreading that the electric vehicle is coming to life in March.

Jaguar claims that its I-Pace has batteries that charge up to 80% in just 45 minutes. Well, this is actually the truth but only if you plug the vehicle into a 100kW DC charger. We have to note that the most common charger in the United Kingdom is half those 100kW – 50 kW DC connection. As you have already guessed, you cannot charge the batteries that fast using the 50kW charger.

But this should not bother you in any way because according to the manufacturer the I-Pace batteries need 90 minutes to get 90% full with the common 50kW connection.  As cool as it sounds, we expect that once the 100kW charging points become common people would start turning towards them.

Currently, 100kW chargers are rarely available but it seems like the tendency is going to change. In December last year, a 350kW charger was installed in Germany. Furthermore, the new Nissan Leaf comes with 100kW fast charger.

Jaguar I-Pace is an electric SUV with batteries, which support 500km ride in a single charge. The automobile has four doors and five seats. It has electric motors on both front and back wheels and each motor have the power equivalent of 197bhp. Jaguar claims that its vehicle accelerates from o to 100km/h in just under 4 seconds.

In December 2016 the company revealed the characteristics of their prototype but still, nobody has certain impressions of its outlook because no one has seen it. But it looks like the wait is soon going to end. Jaguar will start the production of I-Pace on March 1 and then we will know at what price it will be available.

Their new electric vehicle is said to become the direct competitor of Model X by Tesla.
