The Dubai Ministry of Finance (MoF) has partnered with International Monetary Fund (IMF) to hold a Fintech Seminar during this year’s World Government Summit. The event will bring together like-minded persons from all over the globe. There are various issues that will be discussed during the meeting. Among the important topics that will make up the meeting include virtual currencies and the applications of blockchain technology in difficult aspects of the business. The attendants will also discuss something about the wider Fintech services space. There are different renowned speakers expected to grace the meeting. IMF managing director Christine Lagarde will kick off the event with a speech. Others expected to give their speeches during the seminar include Pierre Gramegna, the bitcoin-friendly Minister of Finance based in Luxembourg as well as Obaid Humaid Al Tayer, Minister of State for Financial Affairs based in Emirate. In a statement released to the newsrooms, regional financial publication CPI, Al Tayer noted that the seminar was going to cover various topics in the corporate world such as including virtual currencies. The application of Blockchain technology when it comes to the distribution of ledgers will also feature at the seminar. The named topics have continued to be a center of debate as far as digital innovations are concerned. In addition, there will be a discussion on the opportunities and challenges the provision of Fintect service has been going through over these years. The event organizers have also revealed that he needs to do away with the issue of over regulation that is likely to affect innovation in different ways is also going to be part of the seminar. Experts in the field of finance and international officials are also purposed to attend this event. The seminar will go down on the second day of the 5th World Government Summit. The summit has been scheduled to run from February 12 to 14, 2017 in Dubai.
