Professional services company Deloitte has announced its participation in two of the world`s largest blockchain consortiums, namely Hyperledger and the Ethereum Alliance.

The Enterprise Ethereum Alliance is known to promote corporate use of the ethereum blockchain, while the Hyperledger project gathers a number of open-source enterprise distributed ledger technologies contributed by members, according to the Pete Rizzo, author of the report.

Speaking to the online media, Deloitte principal Eric Piscini commented that it is a formalization of existing relationships between Deloitte and the two blockchain-related initiatives.

“We’ve done projects on Hyperledger and ethereum for a long time. What’s new to us is we want to be part of those organizations and structure. We want to drive some of the activities in the consortium.”, he said in a quote for the publication.

In other words, it was explained that the move was not driven by client demand, but rather by a desire for the company to play a role in these organizations.

“Our client is not looking for Hyperledger or ethereum. They’re looking for something that’s working.”, as Piscini added.

The entire industry is focused on launching new and successful projects shaping the future of the financial industry and not only. These efforts are to be closely followed by the community and the media.
