The modern world sees many technological changes that shape the way businesses work. Professional services company Accenture explores these technological advances and their role in creating intelligent enterprises. So, which are the leading technology trends that are bound to disrupt the world of business?
1. Citizen AI
Artificial intelligence (AI) is here, according to Accenture. Using AI is an important task for businesses around the world. In fact, 81 percent of the executives surveyed by Accenture stated that within the next two years, AI will work next to humans in their organizations. The technology is predicted to become a co-worker, collaborator, and trusted advisor.
“Raising responsible AI means addressing many of the same challenges faced in human education and growth.”, as Accenture writes.
Adding to that point, Accenture says that many enterprises still treat AI as a software program or a tool. Whereas it is true that no one would expect a tool to “act” responsibly and explain its decisions, AI systems must be taught to do that. It is true that AI systems make decisions that affect peoples` work. For this reason, a responsible use of AI or the so-called “Citizen AI” is needed.
2. Extended Reality
Extended reality (XR) lays the groundwork needed to transform entire businesses. Experiences like virtual and augmented reality are able to transfer us to far away places, making distance irrelevant for businesses. As Accenture writes, 80 percent of executives believe it will be important to leverage XR solutions to close the gap of physical distance while engaging with employees and customers.
“Leaders are using XR to address some of the biggest pain points in an enterprise. Whether it’s workforce training, day-to-day productivity, or immersive customer experiences, extended reality offers the opportunity to redesign business without the limiting factor of distance.”, as Accenture adds in their article.
3. Data Veracity
Data have to be truthful and trustworthy since it is paramount for each intelligent enterprise. However, as Accenture makes clear, unverified information is a big vulnerability for businesses nowadays. Technological innovations make it possible for businesses to address this issue and avoid the usual pitfalls that are being associated with it.
Accenture`s Tech Vision survey showed that 79 percent of executives say that organizations are basing their most critical systems and strategies on data, yet many have not invested in the capabilities to verify the truth within it.
